Cora gripped the railing of the ship with all her might. The deck of the Flying Dutchman was heaving under her in the storm - or, at least, it would have been, if she had been on the deck. Instead, she was clinging to the side of the decrepid ship, trying not to be seen by them.
That's what she called Davy Jones' Crew. It was their fault she was here in the first place. If their stupid "Kracken" hadn't destroyed the Dominance, then maybe she could have been warm and dry, even flirting with a few cute guys.

"Parsley and sausage!" she cursed as a wave hit her from behind, almost causing her to loose her grip. "I can control the lightning, but other than that, this storm has control of itself!!" She started to climb over the railing onto the deck. If I can just get off the hull, then maybe I can find somewhere to-
Cora froze in mid-climb. Nearly the whole crew was watching her. ... hide...?
Then, her worst nightmare - Davy Jones. "Well now, what have we here, fellahs?" he said in the accent Cora hated so much. "A stowaway? Or perhaps someone who wants to join our... distinguished ranks?" That got the crew laughing.
"No!" Cora yelled, regaining her confidence. She grabbed the lightining-shaped dagger from her belt and held it in front of her. "I DO NOT want to join you!! And if any of you boyos want to try and make me-" she chuckled for added affect "- well, you'll just get a taste of my little friend!"
But no one got a taste of anything. in a few seconds, Cora was out cold on the deck. "Yeah, shut it already!" said the sailor that had knocked her out. Cora didn't respond. She was too busy dreaming of a girl and a boy in a faraway land, one with a giant pink key, and the other with a black wolf...

Cora woke up in a cell. She was laying on the hard deck, seawater swirling around her. The cage bars were rusted, and everything was covered in barnicles. Nice she thought. Someone is a wonderful decorator. She stood up to inspect the bars closer. Maybe a good blast of electricity will break this lock open. Cora reached down to her belt with the intention of grabbibg her dagger but-
It wasn't there.
"Heeeey!" she called shaking the bars. "Who do you think you are to lock me up? Do you know who I am? I am Cora Crackle!! You have no right to keep me down here!!"
Just then, one of "them" came down from the deck above. "Quit yer yelling!" said the grotesque figure. You don't want the Bouson to have to come down and give you a taste of the nine tails, do you?" That shut Cora up. "No, I didn't think so!" The sailor - if he could be called that - laughed eerily and stomped back up the staris that led to the deck.
Great, now what? Cora thought. Intimidation didn't work. Will I have to wait for someone to rescue me? She sank to the floor, sobbing. What's going to happen to me?

As the prison cells opened, a girl was thrown into it and she was unconscious. Later, she woke up, trying to imtimidate the guard. She watched the girl, Cora, sink to the floor in tears. She had obviously not seen her. The girl jumped down from the high board she was on. She landed softly onto the wooden floor and she took Cora's hand from her knee and pulled her up. "Don't be sad, you aren't alone." she said soothingly. She tore a piece of her black and silver dress off at the end and used it to dry up the tears. "Your name, Cora, is it not?" she asked, giving the cloth to Cora gently.

Cora jumped, dropping the cloth her hand had automaticaly grabbed.
"How did you know my name? And-" Cora jumped up, slipping away from this strange new girl. "-and who are you?"

The girl smiled slightly and just backed away a bit, trying not to fiercely frighten Cora. She smiled and replied simply. "I heard you, trying to "intemidate" the guard. Cora Crackle, it' s nice name." she said thoughtfully. "Oh, my name is Delia. Delia Jones," she said as she felt a tear slide down her cheek. She wiped it off with the sleeve of her dress. "So," she wandered into a new conversation as she jumped back onto her high board. "Why are you here and what was so special about your dagger that they took before they locked you up?" she asked taking interest. She let the smile slip across her face again. Then from the oppisite side of the cell, a little arctic fox jumped down onto the floor and jumped back up to the board that Delia was on. "This is Whisper," she said showing her pet to Cora.

Cora, still being young at heart, forgot her earlier suspicion of this strange new girl, and reached forward eagerly to pet the fox. "Whisper?" she said. "What an odd name!"
Cora could feel Delia's eyes burning into her, willing Cora to reply to her unanswered question. "Oh, right... The dagger. It.... well, you see..." Cora was having a hard time figuring out a way to tell her newfound friend about her ability. "It lets me do strange stuff." She finished lamely.

Delia giggled when Whisper wrapped himself around Cora. "Yeah, my father helped me name him...there were...secrets you see..." she stopped herself from giving away too much. She watched Cora babble out what the dagger does. She rolled her eyes. "You have a power, don't you?" she said, the smile slipping across her face again. "You don't have to lie. I have a power as well. You see, I can control the water. The storm and the waves out there, that was me. I knew he was watching something so I hoped that if I churned the water enough, he would come down to my cell and talk. Just talking would be great!" she said as her beautiful dark eyes looked at something far away. She shook her head and looked back at her new friend. "You see, he wanted me to use my power for evil. But," she trembled and bit her lip. "He wasn't always like this. He was a great man, a great pirate, and a wonderful....grandad." she said as she tucked her knees into her and she fell back into the shadows so that only her eyes showed. Her smile evaporated and it fell into a soft frown.

It took a moment for Cora to absorb what Delia was telling her. "Oh, so... Wait, 'he' is Davy Jones, right, and you said... OHMIGOSH! Davy Jones id your GRANDPAP?! No way!!" Cora stood up, her sorrow forgotten. "If you are his granddaughter, then why did he lock you up?"
Cora waited for a response, but didn't get one. "Well, back to my dagger, then. It is gold, shaped like a bolt of lightning. It helps me focus my powers, which by the way, let me control electricity. Maybe, though, I can still make enough to get out of this lame cage. But I just need a source for the electricity." She furrowed her brow. "Hmmm... how to do that...?"

Delia nodded and hopped back down to join Cora. "Yep, he's my granddad. He locked me up because of who my father is and because he doesn't know I'm actually his...well....granddaughter." she frowned and nodded some more. "So, some electricity. I can make you some. I don't control it, but I mean...I can make the storm clouds appear, make rain come down, snow, the churning waves, that's me." she giggled again. She then looked at Cora again. "So, why are you here anyways?" she asked for the second time now.

"That's a great idea!" Cora exclaimed. "Oh, and I am here because my ship - well, actually the ship I was stowed away on - was attacked by the lovely Kracken. I had to jump ship, and I clung to what I could find. Which, unfortunately for me, happened to be the Dutchman. I teried to sneak on, but teh crew surrounded me, and I had to fight them all off." Cora didn't mind exaggerating to impress her cellmate. How woulf Delia know, anyways?

Delia agreed and moved her head back and forth and her hands followed in a soothing pattern. She listened to everything Cora told her and then rolled her eyes. "You fought them all off? Yeah...that's why you came into the cell unconcious and I heard 'Yeah shut it already.'" she said and she slashed her hand quickly, shooting a big wave of water into the cell, spraying Whisper and Cora. "I hate it when people exagerate Cora." she said, her purple eyes squinting.

Cora giggled, even though she was wet. Delia looked quite strange waving her arms like that. "Looks like we have a leak!" she squeaked. Then, she got serious and concentrated on the storm. She could feel it, oh yes! The electricity in the storm was enough so that the thunder could be heard while it was still several miles off. Just a biiiiit closer, and she would have enough pooled energy to let out a static shock strong enough to open the door.
But... "Hey, Delia, what are we going to do once we get out?" she asked, temporarily breaking her concentration. No matter, she could get it back again. "This static shock will be loud, and sure to draw attention. How will we escape?"

Delia giggled too. She thought it was a bit funny that she got Cora and herself wet. Delia felt the waves and the spray and felt funny. It felt good, strong, and soothing. Then, Cora spoke of escape. "Oh dear, you're right. Hmm," she thought, still moving her arms. "Well, do you think Whisper could do some things?" she giggled again. "Or, I have a nack for swimming." she said. Then she jumped back onto her board to think, opening her locket that she had. It played a sweet song, it was like a lullaby. The song was called "The Locket". It was shaped like a heart.

Cora felt nervous about swimming when they were in the midst of a storm, but she was reluctant to tell her friend. Instead she concentrated on gathering electricity. Or, at least, seh tried to. The locket's song was distracting, though soothing. But, deep down inside, it was irking her for reasons unexplained. Then, she had enough.
"I have enough energy now!" she told Delia. "Cover you ears, and you, too Whisper, because this will make a very big boom." Cora got ready to release the electricity, focusing on the target adn channeling it all t her fingers. Finally, she let it loose.
But it did nothing. Cora reached forward and pushed on the cell door. It swung open easily. "Well," she blushed. "Look at that! I guess they never locked the door!"
